BUILDING AND FIRE PREVENTION CODES
The EBL Code Consulting Group has extensive experience with respect to the provision of Building and Fire Code Consulting services, otherwise termed “Code Consulting”. Our staff has varied and substantial levels of experience with respect to working with architects, engineers, facility owners, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ), as well as, public and private institutions.
To provide useful services in this area requires an in-depth understanding of the Code documents themselves and knowledge of the intent or “spirit” of the Code. We feel this is obtained by applying the Codes on a daily basis to a variety of projects and interpretation scenarios. Additionally, our staff engineers are active in the Code adoption and interpretation arenas through involvement with trade organizations, Code development committees and AHJ liaison committees.
The EBL Code Consulting Group routinely works with application of several model building codes, including the International Building Code, on existing and new projects. Our Code Consulting services will often call on us to draw from our design, testing and computer modeling experience in order to meet project demands.
We are also experienced in applying the Performance Based-Design methodology when a prescriptive approach would not meet the objectives of the building designer, owner, contractor, or authority having jurisdiction.
