Our team of life safety, code and fire protection specialists is prepared to complete on-site surveys to evaluate an organization’s level of compliance with applicable standards by conducting personnel interviews, field observations and documentation review. Our staff maintains close affiliations with governing code bodies and professional organizations to support our insight into code intent and its impact on facility requirements and to maintain the highest level of fire protection and life safety at a manageable cost.
Once existing conditions are determined, a database of findings is developed and recommendations are made to resolve Life Safety Code® deficiencies. In some circumstances a Building Maintenance Program (BIP/BMP) may need to be established or a Fire Safety Evaluation System (FSES) study performed to develop reasonable options for achieving an intended code objective. Subsequently, a prioritized plan is prepared for improving all identified deficiencies including estimates of probable costs. In some instances the use of existing systems or components is not feasible due to age, deterioration or existing arrangement. Here our focus is the coordination of the client’s capital budget allocation and operational requirements for the development of realistic solutions or apply to JCAHO staff, fire marshals, and licensing authorities, on our clients’ behalf for a waiver.
