TESTING AND INVESTIGATIONS

Members of the EBL Code Consulting Group have worked and consulted with the staff of local and national test laboratories.  Subjects include, but are not limited to air balance reports, specimen analysis (usually for compliance with project specifications), and full-scale fire tests (ASTM E-119). 

Staff have also witnessed and managed other fire and toxicity test in their professional careers including New York State Product Toxicity Tests, the Cone Calorimeter, and dynamic shear tests. We have reviewed test reports conducted by others to determine code compliance or meeting the particular project design or project specifications.

Site investigations regularly evaluate whether installed systems and related components comply with the project design documents.

We witness tests including the following

• Sprinkler Systems
• Dry/Pre-action System Trip Tests
• Pressure and Flush Tests of Underground Water Systems
• Backflow Prevention Assembly Tests
• Commercial Kitchen Chemical Systems
• Foam and Foam-water Fire Suppression Systems
• Smoke Management Systems
• Clean Agent Systems

Other discipline site investigations include:

• Observing Soil Borings
• Analysis of Structural Components and Connections
• Air and Smoke Tests of Pipes
• Commissioning of HVAC and Other Systems
• The EBL Code Consulting group also performs forensic investigations after fires or product / system failures.
